I don't remember when my love of wine first struck. It was a slow and gradual process in my early 20s. I wanted to learn all about this delicious fermented grape liquid. When my friends started to ask me about wine on a regular basis, I figured it made sense to post my wine picks and knowledge (I'm always learning!)  online so that they could have a place to refer to. That's how the Yummy Grape was born. Those who know me know that I'm a lover of everything related to wine. I would like to become more involved in the wine industry. During the day, I'm an IT professional for a company that makes software for the film industry. I'm also a classical pianist currently working on my ARTC Performers certificate with the Royal Conservatory of Music. As a true clubbing urban gal, I'm a techno and house dj and a student of electronic music production. For fun, I figure skate. I won gold in my category at the 2010 Canadian Figure Skating Championships. All of these activities do keep me busy but my real passion is wine. I've completed the Advanced level certificate with the Wine Spirit Education Trust (WSET).  I was about to enroll into the WSET Diploma program when I had a strong desire to look into viticulture and winemaking.  I'm currently enrolled in the online winemaking certificate program at UC Davis. I've also audited courses with Washington State University.  I work closely with the iYellow Wine Club here in Toronto. I consider myself an advocate for promoting wine, especially those which are local. I also contribute to various wine websites. Helping to spread the word of the good grape...one grape at a time!
